Within this scope, below we present several research and development (R&D) projects developed in partnership with various entities.

Broker API – Work in progress

This project aims to implement a generic integration system that allows users to integrate heterogeneous systems in the cloud through the use of API’s without the need of coding (no-code), or minimizing their use (low-code).

WMS Primavera Eye Peak Dashboard BI in Warehouse Management – Work in progress

This thesis intends to develop a dashboard or business monitor with a set of business performance indicators (KPI’s) that support the warehouse and logistics manager job. This dashboard is developed through Business Intelligence (BI) with Microsoft Power BI technology over two transactional applications, WMS Eye Peak and ERP Primavera, accordingly Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), products of Primavera Portfolio.

Integration of financial Documents into ERP using QRCode or SAF-T – Work in progress

In this project, it was developed a software for processing and integration of purchase invoices through QRcode being able of reading and processing those documents in a pdf format and also processing and integrating SAF-T file documents into an ERP system, allowing to build an automated process without manual input for payables integration. An implementation of the two functionalities was carried out using Primavera ERP, a management software that allowed us testing the solution and the visualization of the documents generated through the two support files.

Electronic Bill of Lading – Work in progress

This project describes essential security concepts needed to understand blockchains, explaining this concept along with their characteristics, usual organization and other several concepts that distinguish them.

SPC Depot: Smart Parking Container Depot

The development of this project, within the scope of Portugal2020, aimed to reinforce research, technological development and innovation in container depots, or secondary line container terminals, using an intelligent and automated location container storage algorithm, finding the best place to pile the container according to several pre-defined heuristics.

Transporter + Cargofive Integration

This project aim is to integrate the TMS Transporter sales module with Cargofive in quoting freight prices for the main world shipowners, and to be able to use the closed pricing in bookings managed by the TMS.

Cargofive intends to facilitate and speed up the process of managing maritime freight rates. Comparing the different prices and tariffs on the market in real time, this solution ensures that freight forwarders make the best decisions for their commercial activities.

Cargo API

This R&D project objective was to investigate and implement a strategy to modernize the UI layer of a legacy software system called Transporter, through the development of an API to expose the functional layer of the application to be reused by another graphical interface. Transporter is a TMS in the area of transport and logistics developed by MAEIL since 1999.

CargoStats – Extraction of Information from Transport Data

The objective of this project was to develop a business intelligence (BI) application using microdata from the Instituto Nacional de Estatística (INE), captured directly from customs (Tax Authority) on cargo manifests in Portugal. It was intended to show the potential and usefulness of the information generated from this data for different actors in the import and export processes at a national level, giving insights about the overall commercial balance of the country with specifics KPI’s defined.

Imform – Import Management Platform

The main objective of this project was to specify the requirements of a prototype for an online import process management platform that allows the importing entity (usually referred as consignee in international trade) to manage and have a global view of the entire process of international transportation of goods.

Shipperline Project

The goal of this project was to develop a platform that facilitates and makes more efficient the management process of goods transportation, by shippers, mainly by sea, in an automatic and cheaper way, guaranteeing a better service to buyers and controlling its own intermodal process.

 Container Loading and Unloading Processes Integration

Within the scope of this project, was developed an integration software solution with EDI’s, using Transporter Agencies software, a TMS for shipping management, in business processes involving shipping lines, shipowners and shipping agents.
