Container Loading and Unloading Processes <\/strong>Integration<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

Nowadays, most Ports, Container<\/a> Parks and Terminals in Portugal are equipped with information systems that allow them to exchange information with their major business partners via electronic means. Unfortunately, in most cases they do not develop this integration and keep working in less efficient and suboptimal ways, such as using paper, fax and others, which do not allow the automation of their business processes.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In this work, a solution for the integration of the shipping process<\/a> was developed, involving the navigation lines, shipping agents and carriers in particular.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In order to understand the current state of the shipping process, a survey was conducted by contacting several Portuguese entities involved in this process. After a thorough analysis of the collected answers, it was possible to characterize the existing support in terms of information systems and to identify a trend towards the use of e-commerce platforms that are well established in the market.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Following this survey, the proposed integration solution was developed to integrate the information system from a client with an electronic platform for shipping.<\/p>\r\n

The solution is based on a Biztalk orchestration that integrates several types of systems and serves as a proof of concept for integrating the shipping process in a real-world scenario.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
