Maritime transport is one of the main means of transport in the world. Import and export data are a reflection of companies, country performance and economic growth. The analysis of this data can have a major impact on several institutions, contributing to their tactical and strategic plan.<\/p>\r\n
Despite the robust systems in operation in Portugal, the data resulting from the process of importing and exporting maritime cargo<\/a> to and from Portugal is not publicly accessible. For example, in the United States of America, where boarding acknowledgments are public, there are several applications that carry out analyzes allowing to obtain information about the international market for cargo transport by sea. Portuguese public institutions also carry out some statistical analyses, but these are neither accessible in a timely manner nor complete. <\/span><\/p>\r\n The objective of this project is the development of a business intelligence<\/a> application using microdata from the Instituto Nacional de Estat\u00edstica, which are captured directly from customs.
